Good Luck🍀

Hi Guys, just a quick post today.

Exams have now started where I'm from so I just thought id give you a little talkative post.

I want you all to know, all you have to do in your exams is try your hardest! DO NOT STRESS! Exam results are not the end of the world and even though it may seem like it just now, you will look back afterwards and regret making yourself stressed over little things, if you just take all the study advice we have given you, if you know you have studied your hardest for the past month then you have nothing to worry about. whatever result you come out with at the end of the exam, you have worked hard for it, even if it is not as good as you hoped for, you tried your best, and that's all that counts!!

Good Luck Fellow Petals!

What works for you!

Hi guys! So I've made a list of things to consider when choosing where and when to study.

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Do I study better at night or in the morning?

Am I more focussed working at a table or lounging around?

Is constant snacking an avoidance tactic or does eating help me concentrate?

What's the best environment for me? Lamplight, bright light or daylight? Cool room or warm room? Tidy or untidy room?

Do I study best when I am with a group of friends? Or is this just time spent chatting? Do I focus more when working alone?

I hope this helped you guys!

Ways to reward😇

hi guys, so today I'm going to share with you things you should do to reward yourself after studying.

  1. If your reading a book, put a small sweet on a section of the page and eat it when you read that section.
  2. After 2 hours of study, you get to watch 1 episode of your favourite TV series.
  3. After a test, Reward yourself by buying yourself something you've wanted to buy for a while.
  4. if you get over a certain amount in your test, Treat yourself and go a day out.
  5. If you do more study hours than planned, take a day off.
Hope this helped, Good luck!!!

How to make studying happen!

Hi guys! So I'm going to give you 4 easy steps to make studying actually happen! Its fair enough telling you how to study but these steps really will help.

1. Understand
Take time to think about what it is you are learning, how does it relate to you, if you don't get it, ask someone.

2. Condense
It is not possible to remember absolutely everything at once. Make coloured notes, mind maps or use post it notes to organise the key points.

3. Memorise
Rather than just reading over your notes, think of ways to make things more memorable and store information in your head so it can easily be found when it comes to your exam. Use mnemonics, funny stories, rhymes or songs and try to relate what you are remembering to you personally.

4. Review
Learning without reviewing is a bit like filling a bath with water without putting in the plug! Make time to come back and check that you remember what you have learned. Test yourself or ask someone to test you after a few weeks and again after a few months. Don't let all your hard work drain away, put the bath plug in!

Good luck for your exams guys!!

Dont❎

  • Start studying the night before a test
  • Study in a place where you normally relax
  • Study after 10pm at night
  • Do more than 2 hours of studying at a time
  • Think you have to study at the same time just because someone else is

Successful Studying!

Hi guys! Today as part of our study series I thought I'd share some tips for successful studying.

Tip 1 - Good Environment

Make sure you are in a room that's not too hot, or else you'll fall asleep, or too cold, because you'll be shivering. So the room has to be at a perfect temperature. Turn your phone off or put it in another room so that you have no distractions

Tip 2 - Supplies

Collect everything that you might need, post-its, notepads, pens, paperclips. Just make sure that everything is at hand if you ever need it so that you don't have to keep moving to go and get things.

Tip 3 - Candles

These aren't necessary but they keep a chilled, relaxed mood to stop you from stressing out too much.

Tip 4 - Set a timer

Time your self for an hour then have a ten minute break so that you don't go crazy with studying all the time. This also gives your brain time to process the information.

Tip 5 - Food/Drink

This ties in with the second tip but if you have a drink and some sort of snack you will be less likely to leave your study space, or you could just snack during your break.

Tip 6 - Make a study plan

I made a weekly plan so that I study a different subject every night of the week but I also have a day off because you need time to socialise.

I hope this helped you prepare for your exams!

Stage Step Study🎒

Hi everyone, So since Exams are very soon i thought from now until then i would do a series or studying posts to get you all in the mood for studying at this time of the year.
Studying is very universal, some studying methods just don't work for certain people.

Over the past couple of months i have comfortably found a studying method that constantly works for me in order to memorise everything i need to memorise for certain subjects, so today i though i would share my ways with you to see if this may work for you!

Preparation

Stage 1

Firstly, i get myself 2 A4 Subject poly pocket folders, then i gather all of my notes that i want to study and make do with. i prefer to get a folder with a clear front so you can insert a piece of paper in and title it according to whats in the folder.

Stage 2

I turn all of my notes into mind maps for each topic in the subject, and i ALWAYS use colourful pens to do so as that is proven to help the brain remember things more clearly. i then put those mind maps into one folder, then for my other folder i make up questions from all my notes and insert that (from colourful pens of course) into the second folder and at the back i make an answer sheet just so i can mark my work.

Stage 3

Once my 2 booklets are now complete i can now start my study process.

Study Process

Stage 1

Firstly i read through my Mind map booklet once (of that required subject) then i cover the branches of the mind map and write down as much as i can according to that title

Stage 2

Next, i go over to my question booklet and answer the questions from that subject then i mark it and see how much i got right.

Stage 3

Finally after i have completed my booklets i take one of my past paper books or go online to find past papers and i do a Past Exam Paper according to the subject!

Just remember to repeat this process as much as possible

i hope that helped you find a studying technique!

Good luck with your exams !!!!!!

Study Methods!

Hi guys! So as exams are very close for us and possibly some of you guys, I thought I would share some ways that you can study. Everyone studies in different ways and I've tried to put in something for everyone. I wish you all the best of luck for your exams, whenever they are. I hope you enjoy our study series.

1. Flashcards

So these are pretty simple to make and make for effective studying. You can buy flashcards but you can also cut up paper and make your own, you could even make them on your computer. There are also apps that you can use to make flashcards which will always be on your phone. My favourite flashcards app is called Chegg. I'm not going to say anymore because flashcards are quite self-explanatory.

2. Study Booklet

This is really simple. Write out all the main facts you need to know in one booklet. Use colourful paper, pens and you could even put stickers on it to help you remember it.

3. Record yourself

Once you've written out the booklet of information you need to know you can use the voice recorder app on your phone to record yourself reading out the information. You can listen to the recording around the house, in the bath, while doing your makeup, on the bus to school or just before your exam.

4. Mind Maps

Everyone knows what a mind map is. You can stick these on your bedroom walls or next to your mirror so that you can read them when you are getting dressed or doing your makeup.

5. Post-it notes

Put formulas or quotes on them and stick them on your mirror or next to your light switch and look at them every time you walk past it.
6. Use colour

I can't recommend this enough! Use colour for everything. Use coloured pens, fineliners, paper, notebooks, paper clips, elastic bands, EVERYTHING HAS TO BE COLOURED! Trust me it will help you remember things so much better than having everything written on white paper with black pen.

I hope this helped you! Good luck studying!

Top Tips for studying🤓

Hi everyone! So today I thought since exams are right around the corner I would share some of my favourite ways to study!

Tip No.1

Make study notes on plain paper or post-it-notes and stick them all around your room then when you are going past them, take a look at them then they will ease into ur memory every time you go by, I find this really useful!! My room is literally covered in colourful study notes lol
⭐️ Also make the writing or paper colourful so it won't slip your eye when you go past

Tip No.2

Make flash cards and read them every night just before you go to sleep, this is scientifically proven to  make you remember things way more, to look or read it just before bed
⭐️ I like to use white flash cards with colourful pens to make studying a bit more fun

Tip No.3

Condense all of your notes gathered from either at school or from other sources, and get a plain subject folder with poly pockets and make a studying booklet to help you memorise, i prefer to do 1 booklet with all mind maps as that is how i learn best, and i also do 1 book with questions and answers according to my notes.
⭐️ I like to be colourful too and use all sorts of pens and highlighters when doing this method.

Tip No .4

Make a study plan, just put all your subjects on a piece of paper then plan out what ones you need to study at specific times then make a timetable of what subjects you are going to study each night
⭐️ I like to study a subject for one and a half hours at a time, I just find this is the right amount of time for me.

Here are some useful study bits and bobs that you might find useful-

⭐️ NEVER leave it till the last minute to study, always start studying in advance to give you a better
 chance of memorising everything ⭐️

i hope this gave you some tips and tricks to study!! GOOD LUCK!!
